im thinking about a project in 17Ahornet.i know someone who is selling a RUGERno1 in .22hornet,i thought this would be the ideal donor action.i want a single shot rifle for walking,anyone had a project in the same .
what barrels can be ordered for the RUGERno1.

not sure on barrels for a no. 1, but i'd prefer a repeater if i were you. i know you can find 17ai hornet barrels for a t/c contender or encore. if your stuck on a single action maybe this would be your best option and a lot easier too + you still have the option of more barrels.

Ha there,that ruger No1 action is ideal for your project see pic,i have had one for years i got it done back in the days when fox skins were Worth money.The biggest problem you are going to have is scope mounts i had to make mine from scratch to fit barrel dia,see pic.Anyway its a fantastic round for rabbits,foxes ect.I load 2o grain hornady v max and 25 grain remington hollow points with 11.6 grains of 4198.

I have a few custom Ruger #1's A barrel is no problem just make sure of your dimensions when you order the blank. Getting a gunsmith to work on the #1 will be more of an issue.

You may also want to address the scope mounts.
