How long does a 204 Ruger barrel need to be to burn all the powder and keep its accuracy. I'm about to have a Douglas barrel put on and shorter is better for my small boys, but I don't want to give up performance.I saw a thread saying 21.75 inches was best, but wouldn't the best length be caliber and case specific?

I'm guessing the burn rate of your powder would be a determining factor in how long the barrel would have to be to burn all the powder.
