I'm working on this project and it's time to figure out stock, mag options. This is a new Stevens with mag installed in the stock.
I'd like to use the same stock.
Will Stevens .223 mag work for 300 whisper load?
Will the .223 mag fit in the place where .308 mag was in the stock?
Will it feed 300Whisper ammo OK?

If you stick with the 300 Whisper .221 Fireball necked up to 30 caliber it will fit in .223 magazine.

If you do a 300 on a .223 case they will not fit in a .223 magazine because they will be too long.

Any of the short mag boxes can be switched out. There is a technique for getting them out and back in.

The Whisper is a great round. Get your paperwork done and put a good quality can on your rifle. It will sound like a pellet gun and shoot great to 200 yards.

Nat,
Thank you, you confirmed info that I found from other memebers of the forum. I have a .223 bos mag and follower from SSS on order with .223 bolt face, recoil lug and recoil pad.
And my 300 Whisper barrel build on Brux by Sin_Arms expected to arrive this week! I need to figureout a barrel vise now. I have two barrels and all original parts taken off the Stevens. It was in .308. I hope to use both barrels on the same action by switching them, bolt face and mag.
Or bad idea?
