here is some history on it from a guy in Australia

I have been looking at your rifle for sale and I've noticed a couple of things about your rifle , It appears to be a Ishapore rework of an earlier gun .
Its Very possibly an Australian lithgow , the rear sight ears/ protectors are marked with an OA which is the manufacture code for the Orange arsenal located in New South Wales , Also the rear handguard has the 2 cross pieces imbedded in the wood , this was done to strengthen the timber both of these are unique to Aussie made 303's .
Another thing is the cocking piece on the rear of the bolt in an early type ( WW1 to early WW2)

Its common practice for the Indian arsenals to scrub the original manufacturers details off the gun and refurb also called FTR a rifle and then remark it .
Its a pity it wasn't for sale here (Australia) as it would go in a flash with those details and history behind it .
Nice gun too by the way , its a shame to sell it off.
