For those looking for Heat of Explosion numbers, look at Quickload data. I don't know where the author found his numbers, but he has data on all the useful powders. As an example for VV powders: Heat of explosion in kJ/kg

N133 3630
N135 3590
N140 3720
N150 3780
N160 3620
N165 3500
N170 3700
N530 4100
N540 4100
N550 4050
N560 4020

From these values one can see that the double based powders have 10% more energy per unit than do the single based powders. How this will affect throat erosion is difficult to predict.
