OK Varmint shooters help me spend some money!
Finally stepping up to 6mm for varmints, mostly P dogs, on the AR platform.
I have read about the 6mm AR on this web site, not a lot out on the 6mm WOA.
Which one would be the best, 6mm AR or 6mm WOA, no plans of shooting anything heavier than 87 vmax, would it be good to 600 yds?
Any info, load data, other web sights would be a big help.

MLC, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE 6MM WOW BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT ROBERT WHITLEY'S 6MMAR WILL DO A FINE JOB AS I OWN ONE THAT AMAZES ME SOMETIMES WITH IT'S ACCURACY. HE IS NOW CHAMBERING A 6MMAR TURBO 40 THAT IS A LITTLE STOUTER AND FROM HIS TESTING SHOWS THE SAME ACCURACY AS THE REGULAR 6MMAR. HE IS TOP SHELF AND SO IS HIS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. THERE IS LOAD DATA ON HIS WEB-SITE WHICH IS 6MMAR.COM. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH ROBERT'S WORK. I HOPE THIS HELPS. BILL

I have 0 experience with the 6mm, been shooting the AR since 74.
Will the 87 vmax get the job done @600 yds, 24" bbl 10 twist?
Is 3000fps obtainable with 70gr smk.

YES THE 87 GR. V-MAX WILL DO THE JOB WITHOUT A DOUBT. I BELIEVE YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO RUN THE 70 GR. SMK AT 3000 FPS AS WELL. I HAVE RUN BERGER 105 GR. VLD S AT BETTER THAN 2850 FPS WITH EASE AND NO PRESSURE SIGNS AT ALL. ROBERT HAS LOAD DATA FOR THE 75 GR. V-MAX CHRONOED AT BETTER THAN 3100 FPS IN THE REGULAR 6MMAR SUCH AS MINE. I HAVE SOME LOAD DATA FOR MY RIFLE THAT I CAN SHARE WITH YOU IF YOU DECIDE TO GO WITH THE 6MMAR. THE TURBO WILL LET YOU LOAD EVEN MORE POWDER THAN THE REGULAR 6MMAR WHICH IN TURN WILL OF COURSE GIVE YOU FASTER SPEEDS. NO DOUBT THIS CARTRIDGE WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY. BILL

I also have a 6MMAR from Robert Whitley. It is well made & thought out. His load data on the site is very good, in fact I don't own a chronograph & followed his loads to the letter. It couldn't have been easier! I used it on Pdogs last year w 75g V maxes. Some hits @ over 500 yds. Think my barrel is a Hart 26" 1/9 twist. I wrote an article about the 6mmAR in Varmint hunter issue #69. I highly recommend this rifle...

I have a 6mmAR Turbo improved that pushes berger 105 molys at 3000+ (hard on the brass) It is very accurate and put together well. It is a pleasure to shoot and easy to load for. Even fireforming the brass with 105 amax's and Varget got 1/2MOA acuracy. I am out of varget so I will be working up another load with RL15, I am gong to shoot for 2900fps so the brass will last a little longer. There are few rifles I will not part with, this is one of them. Robert Whitley does great work and is very knowledgable on the subject.Give him a call and he can work up an upper that is ecxactly what you need.
I have no experience with the 6mmWOA.

I have a pair of uppers from Robert and to echo several others, both Robert and his operation are first rate. His finished product is a true "turn key" operation. Drop it on your lower, follow the reloading instructions and start having fun. I've got bolt rifles that won't shoot with the 6mmAR. As a matter of fact, I’m thinking about re-barreling and chambering up one in a bolt rifle just because. Because it's that good! Stop searching and contact Robert, you won't be disappointed.
I hope this helps,
