I've owned both, either will quickly out perform a std .243 WIn. My first truly accurate rifle was a Factory Varmint Special 6mm Rem. I do favor the extra speed that I get with the AI for long range work when using heavier bullets in the p-dog towns. But I do believe that you'll find that the standard 6mm case will feed a little smoother from a magazine when being used as a repeating hunting rifle. I'm reasonable sure you'll enjoy either one you choose.

If your looking at shooting long VLDs 100grs. and up you would be well served using a long action if you want to feed from the magazine. Either is a good cartridge.

I have owned many, many 6mm Rems in Rem 700. I have always wished they were on a long action.
