I have a bunch of Bereger 115gn VLD's I want to use in my new 6XC BR rifle. I have called Berger and no one seems to have any load info for the 115 VLD's in the 6XC.....anyone here using them? If so what powder, charge weight, etc., are you using.
I have Varget, RL-17,H4350 and IMR-4350.

I would not play with Varget with the 115's - bullet is just to heavy for that fast a powder in that cartridge.
With the other powders I would start around 37 gr and work up. You will probably max out around 38-39 gr of the other three (which are all about in the same burn rate).

Robert is correct, dont bother with Varget. 37.0grs should be a good starting point with H4350. I havent run the 115s in a bit so I cant recall if I was using 38 or 39 grs, but IF I was using 39, that would be maxed out or dang close to it. If you got a 1-8 twist, you are going to have to run then fast anyhow and they still may not shoot well, the 1-7.5 I had they really shot well in it.

Thanks guys....the barrel is a 1:7.5 twist.

I wouldn't bother with any of them other then the IMR 4350 with a MAX!! charge of 40.5 obviously work up slowly for your rifle

RL17 is a good choice with 115s in the XC. My barrel is a 28" Bartlein 7.8tw with a .237" bore, and RL17 gives 3000fps or better with moly'd 115s with good accuracy. Wolf LRMs & F210s are my favorites.
