I put a Jewell trigger in an AR-15. It was my first trigger job of any kind. If you have any mechanical dexterity and logical mind, following the instructions is a snap. I had some tight tolerances in the trigger housing area of the AR so I fiddled around a bit. It's been in about a year and no problems. I just clean and lube it with a light oil.

HipShot,

How do you like the Jewell? Whose lower is it in? My lower is a RRA.

The first time, it might take 1/2 hour.

The second time, it might take 15 minutes.

Don't oil them, just clean them with lighter fluid...

I really like the ones in my lowers!!

Chuck, you might want to check out some of the AR-15 specialty boards or one of the High-Power boards. I've seen quite a few negative reports on Jewell's for AR-15s. That's not to say the trigger is bad, just that a lot of people had problems. It seems the Geissele is the preferred trigger.

I like the Jewell on the bolt gun but their AR trigger is pretty much WORTHLESS. To install the Jewell AR is the easy part but adjusting one to feel right is the worse nightmare. My biggest problem with the Jewell AR trigger is it will not hold the same break for more than 10~20 rounds and for me, if I set the pull weight to where I want it (1.5lb) it double almost every time.
I will 2nd the Geissele, best money I spend and worth every penny. Geissele is a 2 stage and I have the "Match" trigger set, the first stage take-up can be tuned (bend the spring)to silky smooth and the 2nd stage can be adjusted to breaks almost as a BR trigger, the best part, it's impossible to get it to doulble.

Then you either got a bad one or didn't install it correctly or buggered it up somehow in the process.

I have 3 of them and they're fantastic. easy to adjust and the pull weight stays consistent. NEVER had it double.
