Hello F-Classers,
I've run an F-Class league at the Elk River Sportsman's Club in Elk River, MN for the past two years. The program has brought out many new shooters and helped hone the skills of the experienced shooters. Last night, Aug. 10th, we had great conditions: Rain had moved through, little to no wind, and good light. Forum member and MN Champ Benjamin Winget (benjamin199)shot a clean score of 200-16X at 600 yards. I run the line overseeing the shooters, but I was drawn to my spotting scope as I realized how great Ben was shooting. What a pleasure to watch! Here are the stats on Ben's 284 Win. rifle, as seen on page 9 of the pride and joy blog:
BAT 3 lug long action
Broughton 30" 9 twist 5C barrel
Master Class rosewood lam. F-class stock
Jewel trigger
NF 12-42 BR scope

Ben was shooting Lapua brass, 175 Sierra bullets pushed by Re-17. I don't know which primers. Great shooting Ben!

What is the official format and target size for F-class match, or is there one?

Because at the local club's so call F-class match, we only have to 300 yards and the targets have a 2" X-ring, and 3" 10-ring, and we shoot 60 shots in 1 hr. plus 5 sighters.

Thanks for the kind words.
The conditions were perfect and the rifle was shooting very well.
My load is:
175gr matchking seated .010 off the lands
CCI BR-2 primer
50.2gr of RL-17
lapua Brass (6.5-284 necked up to 7mm)
We were shooting the mid range 600yd target with the Fclass center. X-ring 1/2 MOA, 10 ring 1MOA.
Unlimited sighters and 20 shots for record in 22 mins.

The NRA Offical 300 yard Target has a 1.4" X Ring, the Targets are .5 moa for 300 yds. through 1000 yards, F-Class is under High Power Rules found here: http://www.nrahq.org/compete/RuleBooks/HPR/hpr-index.pdf

A New Club record has been set at Peru Rod & Gun the last 2 months by Greg Shangraw, now it stands as 450-30X, shot with 5 sighters and then in 3 strings of 15, shoot and paste, that's without pits and no sighters after the 1st string.

Now for the reason I read this...

GREAT SHOOTING benjamin199!

What is total Agg. for the match?
