I prefer bigger So I would suggest 6.5X284, 284 WIN, or 338 Lapua. But that's just me. I have taken deer sized game out past 500 with 308, and 243. and 7MM mag. but prefer wild cats, and bigger rounds for longer range.

my long range caliber of choice is a 270wsm. with the right bullets it will beat out a 6.5x284 and a 7mm mag. .284 or 7wsm with 168gr. bullets would be an excelent choice; along with 7stw, 7mm dakota, or 7mm rem saum.

The best load is powder, backed by a primer, with a decent bullet in front. These products are currently being blocked from American citizens for some strange reason. Vote for Sarah Palin for President at your earliest opportunity. Let's get back to real . . . Cliffy

I would shoot my 6.5 ICBM (6.5 STW w/35 degree shoulder) Trued 700 long action, Badger Ordinance bolt knob and 20 moa base, HS stock, Heavy fluted SS K&P 26" barrel w/brake. Nikon 6.5-20 Monarch scope.

The 142 Matchking at 3500 fps is one amazing bullet. Run the ballistics on that and you will be amazed out to 1200!
