I suppose that building this rifle didn't make much sense, but I always wanted a left handed Winchester Model 70. A couple years back I picked up an unloved one for not much money, with the understanding that someday I'd take the action and build something a little more "special" out of it...
It is now a 300 Winchester Mag sitting in a new A5 stock, with a Jewel trigger and a 1-10 twist Kreiger barrel.
I was concerned that being built on a Winchester action that it wouldn't shoot as well as I'd expected, but I guess that good bullets, barrel, and bedding go a long way. It ain't a benchrest rifle, but with 210 Berger VLDs and a whole lot of H1000, all of my test groups have held under 1/2" and a couple loadings look to be an honest 1/4"
At 17 lbs with scope , it is pretty comfortable to shoot.

Very nice! Always good to see the bolt on the correct side. I just sold my lefty M70 6XC - with some regrets. The Model 70 will shoot very well and in any company. Great rifle, nicely done!

Well.......it might shoot better if you replaced that cheap scope w/ a quality one!! I'll help you out and give you $500 for it so you can getcha a better one!
Serious...NICE stick bro. Always wanted to build a lefty but worried that after 45 yrs. of shooting left handed w/ righty rifles, I would spend the money and not know how to operate the bolt! lol.
