I've bought a old beat up Savage 7mag (long action) cheap that I thought could be used to make something that I could use on Prairie dog trips. I've got a new take-off Remington varmint barrel in .243. I know the bolt head would have to be changed but do you think the barrel could be cut/rechambered to a 6br and married to that reciever to make a decent PD gun ?
Anyone ever try such a project.
I know it would be easier to just buy a different rifle, but ya know how it is, sometimes different is neat.
thanks
