Hello all,

Can someone tell me what affects high humidity or fog would have on your POI?

thanks,

I record relative humidity and temperature when I test and I have never been able to assign much observed variation to changes of relative humidity. A quick check in EXBAL confirms this. Keeping everything else the same, the drop from line of bore at 1000 yards for a bullet with a .505 BC and MV of 2600fps at 10% RH is 454.6 inches versus 452.8 at 100% RH. However, I have had some of my best vertical dispersion from POA just before a light rain begins or a light mist is hanging over the range because the mirage disappears and I get an extremely clear, sharp image of the target in my scope.

Thanks Tony,

I was not aware of the program that you used. I've been using the point blank software and like it very much, however, the exbal seems very far advanced.....

I was shooting my .308 the other day in the fog of early morning, and noticed a lower poi than previously shot. I didn't know if it was because of no mirage or just me pulling shots consistantly ( i'm not a good shooter ).
