This has to be an American Government trick to force us to run out of reloaded and new handloaded ammo! Don't attempt to tell me people are scarfing up what IS NOT AVAILABLE. I'm out of EVERY size primer for pistol and rifle! Scalpers still have a few at outlandish prices, but even those rats are running out. Primers are simply NOT AVAILABLE to American Citizens. Cliffy

It does make you wonder, but I won't start screaming conspiracy just yet. This primer thing happened some years ago and eventually the supply caught up with the demand. Rumor has it that Powder Valley has 50 million on order. Now if we could just get out of the two wars we're mired in I'm sure that would help a bit also.

My local gunsmith just took delivery of several 5K boxes of pistol primers. Has Rem, Winchester, CCI & Wolf rifle primers on the shelf. A very good selection of 1# cans of powder, including Varget, also available, all at reasonable (not gouging) prices. Southwest Pa.

I have been able to get primers and powder all summer from a local supplier at reasonable prices. All this conspiracy talk has done nothing but heightened demand.

Primers and powder made and/or packaged in the U.S. have been available all Summer in Canada. Regular shipments are coming in. If there is some sort of conspiracy against reloaders by the U.S. government, I doubt that export permits would be granted by that same government allowing shipments of reloading components north across the Canadian border.

One irony is that IMR powders are made in Canada, shipped to the U.S. for packaging and then re-shipped north to Canada for retail sale which is why IMR powders are more expensive than Hodgdon powders up here.

Yup, lots more stuff available today than 6 months ago that is for sure. We recently received our order for 10k primers Federal Match 5k of each small and LR. Powders including Varget are available in our area, which was impossible to get three-six months ago, and the prices are what I consider reasonable.

It is just amazing what a fine tool search engines are these days....I was able to find LR (CCI BR-2) and SR (Wolf) primes IN STOCK at TWO different well know online reloading suppliers in a matter of 5 mins. or so.
