You don't have to "stay away" from Richards Micro Fit, just be aware of the problems that some of the folks have run into. If you know ahead of time what you might expect, you won't be surprised. They do have a bunch of good designs.

What about their stock-blanks, will there also be an extended waiting period?

Does anyone have experience with Richards stock-blanks?

My bud ordered one (I directed him there because he wanted to finish it himself) No where near press fit unless you are using a 12# sledge. It is their thumbhole target (F class) and the barrel channel was for a light weight sporter, the trigger and floor plate are inleted 1/2 below the bottom flat. So that whole area is going to have to be relieved for the BDL bottom metal to work, bolt handle slot looks like it was done with screw driver, It came looking like it was cut using a old wookpecker for a shaper. Tons of rasping need to be done to be able to get at the trigger as the right side is way too wide. I could go on but you get the point. HS or McMill from now on

If you call...you could get lucky like I did and get one already made. I have 12 hours of finish work invested in mine:

I did the finger grooves with my Dremel

I've built a few of their stocks over the years. They are not drop in, they are rough blanks. All of the ones I've done finished up nice.
