I have a Howa 1500 in .204 and I'm wanting a 6mmbr Norma. I have about 1500 bucks to play with. I'm not to sure if i should just buy a savage f class or just rebarrel my howa and put a new stock on it. Let me know what you guys think.

I think that I would start by looking at the Benchrest Central Classified : BR Central Classified
You can sometimes find a good deal in there.

I am with TheBlueEyedBear. Look for a used bench gun. You can pick up a used custom action 6PPC in the range of $1500.00. Have the bolt face opened for a 6BR, if needed, some fit both as is. Have the chamber punched to 6BR.

I have 3 custom action gun now all were picked up used. You may be able to find a 6BR ready to go.

Also a friend of mine just built a Rem gun. All said and done, he had as much money into as a used custom. I said I told you so.

You get a good stock, great action, good trigger and a barrel that will still out shot any factory barrel. All you may need is a barrel down the road, maybe.

You could true the howa, get a custom barrel and stock and be set, however, I don't know about your trigger situation? If you need to up grade that should put you at just under what you have to spend. If I had $1500 though, I would buy a Savage target Action, by a Kreiger or Broughton 30" barrel in 8 Twist, and buy stock of choice. That would put you at around that amount too. You can always add a Rifle Basix 2 Trigger to that combo if you don't like the accu-trigger.

You're in a good spot with cash to spend, have fun.
