Oh, yes, good idea, Keith!
I'm in Plano, TX. Any one can help me to take the barrel off a Stevens action, Please?

Do you have the smooth nut or the nut with fore/aft grooves?

The nut has grooves and I have correct barrel wrench for it.
The barrel is 1.05" diameter by the nut and slightly tapers. (It's sported contour.)

I've got a really bad 'a' rear entry action wrench for the Savage. If you have the barrel wrench, I'll loan it to you and ship it with th barrel vise if you still want one. I'll include a return UPS shipping label on the action wrench.
How 'bout that?

thank you. But a local gentleman offered me help about 1.5 hour away. Let's see may be I'll have some one in my town with a vise to help me? (At the moment I need just to remove the barrel so I can camo paint action and both barrels with GunKote. By the time I re-finish I'll have a action wrench or vise in my hands )

Not to bust your bubble, but do you have the correctbolt face for your 300 whisper? the one you require is the 223 type bolt head which is the same as the 221 parent case.
