Hi gang.
I was searching online for barrel info or something the other day and opened a site that showed a quilted stock "jacket" or "coat" on the stock....from the butt to grip area. I did not spend anytime really looking at it and now can't find it again.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? Or a link to the website? And last...what are these for?

Thanks,Stan

Stan,
That thing is called a stock boot and is is used to keep cleaning solvents and gun oil off your high dollar, finely finished stock if you have a tendency to be a little sloppy like me. I saw them offered earlier this week on the Daily Bulletin here. they are available from Sinclair International or direct from the mfr.

It was probably Sinclairs stock protector. Quilted outside and plastic inside.

Not very practical. The cloth absorbes everything that gets spilled on it.

I use shelf liner from Walmart and a couple pairs of Velcro circles to hold it in place. For $10 you can make a dozen or more.

Those be it! Thanks guys....I mfg. dust covers for Ham,PC,and A/V equipment and just thought I might expand into gun "stuff"...as I have never seen anyone use these at the range, I guess there is not a large market for them.
The only thing I could do to "enhance" this would be I do custom embroidering so I could add a rifle name,cal.,etc. on them. And/or make them from different material.

Take care,Stan

Say, Stan - ever thought of making dust covers to fit RCBS ChargeMasters? I'd buy one if was breathable and the price was right...

I have...I think and breath covers!! The main problem is the material...what to use. I make most of my covers out of a 50/50 wool/felt. It is great for electronics, etc. I also make them out of marine grade vinyl. If I could find a good source of heavy nylon...that might work for loading presses, etc.

Take care,Stan
