The problem here is that the only powder available in southern Australia is ADI. and very limited stocks of alliant. The importer is in western Australia But he may as well be in the U.S, because you can almost never can get it, in the past 10 years I have managed three one pound containers of reloaded 25. Vihta Vuori is available in Queensland but I have never seen it here nor do I know any of my shooting mates, including bench rest guys that can get it unless its for a big competition shoot, then they get it in, I think the gun shops here can not get the high margin on the product, like they can with ADI powders, of coarse IMR do not import into the country anymore, Winchester powders are seldom stocked and the limit on the amount of powder you can have in your possession at one time is 3 kgs I think that is about 6.6 pounds and that includes loaded ammo! So were screwed! for now anyway.

Just bought Win large rifle primers for $33.00/1000 and Hodgdon H4895 for $24.50/lb at two different Toronto area suppliers.

Strikes me that there may be a business proposition here if enough of you Ozzie boys reload. 6.6 lbs of powder is enough for 100 rounds in most ammo but I suppose one of the issues you have is distance and transporting the product to the end user.

I have been onto several of your excellent OZshooting forums and learnt that you have some very odd and draconian laws (unless you lads are winding up a pom !!), do you have import restrictions or heavy taxes on imported powders/primer. That might be whats stopping imports but I supose transporting powder halfway around the globe is not exactly cost effective.

7000 grs. per pound @ 70grs per round = 100 rds. x6.6 pounds = 660 rds. more or less depending on powder per case. A 50gr charge would get you 140 rds per pound 924 total etc.
