Thanks for the story regarding the Savage 12 Benchrest and the egg shoot. That is the kinda of information I want to read...both the pros and the cons about this gun. I can still give it back to Cabela's without a big hit to the wallet, so I'm really still deciding if I want it. All the real life info I can read helps.

I see from your screen name you must be a 1911 shooter....what type gun are you using? I've had a Baer for several years and I'm still in love. Bob

I havent seen any of the BR models yet but, I have a Savage F-class in the 6.5x284, and that thing shoots so well I couldnt believe it was a factory rifle..

Ive really enjoyed shooting mine. But it time for a new barrel though!!
